The Challenge: ‘Reinvigorate the Retro’

Classic cocktails are the cornerstone of our industry, and this year Club Suntory invites you to celebrate their timeless appeal, using one of Suntory Global Spirits’ iconic brands. We’re calling on you to embrace nostalgia by creating a cocktail inspired by the past.
But it’s not just about the drink. In the spirit of Omotenashi – the Japanese art of hospitality – the story behind your cocktail, the care you put into its presentation, and the experience you offer your guests will be just as important.
Show us how your creation that brings the past to life, with a touch of your own signature flair.
Criteria
Entries Close May 18th
Define your level of entry:
1. Club Omoroi: For those with over 2 years behind the bar, ready to lead with creativity and innovation, embracing the spirit of mastery and excellence
2 .Club Yatte Minahare: For bartenders with less than 2 years of experience, driven by a bold curiosity and the desire to grow, capturing the “Go for it!” spirit that Suntory champions
- Enter your personal and venue details
- Select your Hero spirit from Suntory Global Spirits portfolio
- Share your entry serve (name of the cocktail, the recipe, the garnish, and the method), your story (narrative behind your creation and its connection to the ‘retro’ theme), cocktail presentation (visual harmony and creativity captured in a photo or video) and Omotenashi service (your approach to hospitality, reflecting the warmth and precision of how the cocktail is served and the thoughtful attention to detail that elevates the guest experience)

Rules and Terms & Conditions
The Suntory Cup Checklist
- Cocktail to contain minimum 45ml feat. one or more Suntory Global Spirits brands
- Cocktail must not exceed 75ml of alcohol
- Maximum 6 ingredients (including Suntory Global Spirits spirits and any ‘drops’ or ‘dashes’). Does not include ice or garnish.
- Cocktail must be new and unpublished
- Homemade ingredients allowed (and counted as just one ingredient)
